I started in at 7:38 (I thought it was later but the clock in my Jeep is fast) and was wondering if I'd catch up to them. I saw a committee of vultures in the trees along the road. Once on the trail there was the odor of something dead but I couldn't find the source. The hike in haunted Canyon was better with cool temps, cloud cover and flowing water it was as good as it gets. There it some damage to the trail from the water but nothing that hasn't been rerouted. I did catch up with David and Ryan and got to hike with them for a bit until the junction with the old Haunted Canyon trail. I went on toward the cabin to explore and they continued on to complete a loop of the entire trail and hiking back on the road. I explored some in Haunted canyon and found pot sherds in the side canyon which led me up a ridge looking for a ruin. I did not find a ruin but there are several large pot sherds at the spot and I'm not sure why. The hike out was nice but uneventful . Another good stroll in the Supes. |
