My wife, her mother and I headed out to Lake pleasant for a day of picnicking and relaxing in the great weather that we are having. We wound up at the Bobcat day use area and set up shop in a ramada. After eating and relaxing for a while I felt a short hike was in order. So I decided to walk down the road to the Frogs Neck trail then go south on the Beardsley Trail for a short bit. I descended down the trail to where it intersected the Beardsley Trail. I was treated to nice views of the hills and mountains to the South. The trail went up and down some the it crested a hill and turned toward the road. I turned around right before it curved to the right to sort of parallel the road. I was surprised to come across a few poppies showing off the early bird colors. I retraced my way, not enjoying the ascending that I had to do. All in all a nice little hike on a beautiful day.
