I wanted to see for myself the flowers that I had heard were on the trails originating from the Desert Hills Trailhead I headed out there this afternoon. I jumped on the Ocotillo Trail and was treated to a small scattering of African Daisies right away. A little while later there were more on the right side of the trail. They went away then at about three quarters of a mile they showed up on the hillsides on both sides of the trail with lupines mixed in with increasing frequency. Poppies were scattered here and there also. I turned around after I had gone a mile and enjoyed the view all over again. I am sure that this weekend's rain will serve to increase the beautiful display.
