Found the small parking area at the intersection of 52nd St. and East Cloud Road and proceeded north along the trail. The backs of a few private homes are present for a short while. The track is fairly smooth then as it descends toward the creek it gets rocky in places. I crossed the creek and headed back up taking the trail to the right at an intersection. you are never out of view of civilization along the way but there are lots of saguaros to catch your eye. A hiker told me that the trail I was on would eventually link up with the Quartz Trail in the CCRA. Being short on time I turned around before getting close to that spot. A bike rider here and there otherwise I had the place to myself. No flowers to speak of. This area is maintained by the Desert Foothills Land Trust. Good stuff. |
