| no partners | | Could have called this hike "Bloomapalooza Part Two" as it is the same two trails we were on 3 days ago to look for the wildflower blooms. Same trails but we did a loop using the eastern portions of the trails as opposed to the west end we did previously. I'll try to get my POS Bushnell GPS track to upload and add it to the photoset.
This trail system in the Sonoran Preserve North has some real winners. Three very distinct personalities depending on which of the three sections you choose to use...East, West, and Central.
Absolutely no daisies which the west side had in spades, but the overload of poppies and other blooms made up for it. More Mexican Gold's than you could shake a trekking pole at. Complete hillsides were covered as far as you could see. With the 1 inch of rain expected tonight the desert should explode in the coming week. The Brittlebush has budded out and the Owl Clover has finally started to bloom. Love the color of that stuff! More Lupine and Fiddleneck than three days ago too.
That about wraps it up. What a great way to get some exercise, while seeing all this color that usually doesn't show itself in the Sonoran Desert. |

Wildflowers Observation Substantial Lots and lots of flowers. With more rain expected tonight and tomorrow it will only get better. |
