Temps were in the upper sixties at the start by the time I made it around to the north side the sun was high enough so no shade was cast on the loop trail only on the Wind Cave Trail so it was feeling warm already. Had not met anyone until going by Pass Mountain trailhead. After this saw 4 bike riders, couple of runners and about 10 other hikers. No wildlife and no reptile sounds other than lizards running through the very dry vegetation which is not encroaching on the trail. Nice breeze kept up all morning fortunately I finished before the sun intensity could make it unpleasant. |
