| no partners | | This trail has always been one of my favorites. I did some night pictures up at the overlook about 4 year ago. I checked the weather for clear skies and the moonrise and decided to head up again.
The trail was in good shape, but it’s been a while since it’s had some maintenance. The weather was mild with no wind. I was not expecting to see anyone else up there and I was right. The parking lot at the marina got some new dirt and some grading.
It was very dark out there, but my eyes adjusted for nicely when I would turn off my headlamp. No critter encounters except a little rattlesnake in the trail by the canyon overlook. Lots of gnats out there and there was a nice ambient cricket concert playing. I could hear the creek flowing below.
I took my pictures and enjoyed the solitude and started back down before the moon could make an appearance.
I would like to come back out here during a full moon, I imagine it would be just as good as always. |
