| no partners | | A quick sunrise hike in the Supes. I parked at the little lot just west of the Massacre/Crosscut lot. No cars when I arrived at 445am.
I opted to do the loop counter-clockwise, so I started out along the Jacob’s Crosscut and made my way to the Treasure Loop Trail. It was pleasantly cool out when I started.
I love this little hike and I always seem to forget it has some elevation gain when you get close to the mountain. The trail was in good shape. I was hoping for a little color with the sunrise, but it was a very vanilla event. Oh well, seeing the sunshine from the early morning kiss the tops of the cliffs is always nice to see.
I took it pretty easy today, stopped a lot for pictures and went off trail a few times looking for cacti blooms. Still some of those holding on.
I saw one hiker off in the distance towards Lost Dutchman SP when I first started out, otherwise, I had the place to myself the entire loop. A great way to start a Memorial Day. |
