| no partners | | I had plans for a much more ambitious hike, but I overslept and did not make it out of the house until 6am. So, I opted for a nice out and back along Jacob's Crosscut from Broadway TH.
The weather was hot, but not too bad. I was looking at my weather before leaving and it said "partly cloudy", but I noticed this odd layer of clouds everywhere when I arrived. I found out on the way back home that it was smoke from the Apple Fire in California. Made for a cooler morning, but crappy light for photos.
There were a few cars in the little lot when I arrived. I came across a couple of hikers and a trail runner going back. Other than that, I saw nobody. The lot was empty except for my truck when I got back. Nothing new to report on this highly trafficked trail. Things look pretty dry, that is for sure. But, it's August in Arizona, so it's supposed to be dry.
I hiked out to the Spirit Canyon trail junction and turned back. A total of 6.8 miles r/t. A nice hike along a nice trail. |
