| no partners | | A quick early morning exercise loop. I arrived about 6am at the Meridian TH and there was already 7 vehicles parked. I opted for a counter-clockwise loop and off I went.
The trail is in good shape, but I noticed there was a very high number of doggie-do piles at the start. I gave up counting them after 20. Ugh.
I wanted to get out and get my heart rate up. I left the camera at home and only had 1 bottle of water with me (no pack). The weather was agreeable, even at the end. Looks like our summer oven season is coming soon.
I saw a good number of people for a Wednesday, but I’ve seen way more out there in the past. Once I got around the northwest side, the trail runners and mountain bikers made their appearance.
As I passed the Wind Cave TH, I noticed it was packed. I saw a good number of folks out on that trail. Very few on the southern edge of the mountain as I worked my way back to the TH.
Mission accomplished, I got in my workout and had a great hike except for tripping over a rock and scraping up my knee and elbow a little near the Wind Cave TH. Figures I have a little fall on a flat well groomed trail, but somehow manage to emerge unscathed from the rough off trail ones I have been doing lately. Ha ha. |
