| no partners | | The morning temps are dropping so it's becoming a bit more comfortable to get out hiking again So this morning I hiked some more of the Superstition Mountain's burn area.
I drove out First Water Road to the horse trailer parking lot and followed a favorite trail through a narrow canyon down to First Water Creek. The first part of my hike was through some un-burnt desert, but once at the dry creek in the basin, almost everything was torched. Such a shame to see such devastation in this normally beautiful part of the Superstitions.
Along my trails, I did find a deep pool of water that didn't look like anything I wanted to taste. I don't think it was spring fed because there was no water flowing from the pool and the fly's were buzzing but none were landing by the water.
I had a chilly start to my hike, even wearing a long sleeve shirt, but once the sun came out, it didn't take me long to stuff that shirt in the backpack. Only met a few hikers on the trails this morning.
