| no partners | | | Arrived early planning to beat the heat and crowds, at least I beat the heat. Steady influx of vehicles from 0600 , I had forgotten a lot of schools closed today. Temperatures were mild and there was lots of cloud cover, hazy day so views were not the best. Hikers were actually fairly spread out along Siphon Draw on the way up either to the basin or Flatiron. I took the less traveled path to head over to 3845. Most deer scat I’ve seen along this route but no live ones spotted despite having this ridge to myself after leaving the saddle above the basin. Rerouted a few folks heading up the drainage toward 4102 instead of Flatiron. Again went for the Palmer Mine Loop and then Treasure loop descent to finish it off. Was just warming up as the sun was breaking through as I finished. |
