| no partners | | My first afternoon hike of the season, yee haw! It was a little more humid than I thought it would be but when the sun went behind the clouds, it was very pleasant. I'm still trying to get my hiking mojo back and I felt I did pretty well on this one. Next time I'll add the summits. As it was I extended this hike as I initially only planned to do the loop.
It was hard to get into the "good afternoon" mode rather than "good morning". I think maybe I should just settle for "hello" and then I don't have to worry about the time of day . It's always nice to hike after a good rain as there is no dust and the trail is actually soft in some spots. The trails have taken some hits from the storms though, but only a couple areas were bad. The lizards didn't care because as usual they were out to greet me almost the entire way. I probably saw a dozen people out hiking and one dog that wanted to greet me so I obliged.
I was lucky to get to look up at the right time and see a rainbow to the east of me. It was so pretty and bright it made me feel the same... awhhhh. Later I also saw a squirrel scampering off in the distance. I had a good hike on a nice day. Now tomorrow, another crown, UGH.

For me, sometimes it's just as much about the journey as the destination.
Oh, and once in awhile, don't forget to look back at the trail you've traveled. |
