| partners | | A quick little trip out on the soon-to-be-old section of AZT Passage 25 to remove AZT signs. We thought of driving it but were glad we didn't because of a few spots that would have been a bit much even for the reliable 4Runner. Hiking this section of ugly road walk really makes one appreciate the new route that remains single-track through the Mazatzal Wilderness. But only those who hike both will ever realize the improvement--maybe the AZT should include a loop around both routes to showcase the greatly improved experience.
We were passed by an ATV about 3/4 mile from the end as we were carrying the old signposts and a plastic barrel cover. The hint that we were carrying and they were riding was a bit too subtle so we carried them out to the end.
Another fine day on the AZT. |
