After several reports of deadfall near Wild Horse Tank on the new Happy Jack AZT passage, we decided to make a day of it and go remove them. We left Pine around 7 for Bargaman Tank area, then the rock crawling began. Granny-low for 30+ minutes and we were at Wild Horse Tank, ready to head out.

The new trail is awesome! Smooth singletrack through the pines and junipers. We knew where to look for the deadfall, as the trail passes through a few burn areas. We cut 16 over the 3.2 miles to the Daves Tank area, where the trail crosses an open meadow that sure looks ideal for growing potatoes.

We saw four bike riders, which seems like an excellent way to see this passage since there are no serious hills on the entire route.
