I've been wanting to get out to the Galiuro's for awhile now and decided today would be the day. Drove out to hike Ash Creek. Stirred up a group of Pronghorn on the way in, who apparently were pissed at me as one of them started shadow kicking with it's back legs towards my direction lol. Drove the road up to the unofficial trail head, having to drive through a good amount of water to get there. With all of the water crossings I was trying to be "smart" and not get my feet wet, which lasted a whole 5 minutes as I fell into the creek the first crossing and said screw it and walked through the rest of them. The trail was in good shape most of the way, a little overgrown past the water tank but nothing horrible. Took a break at the creek near lower Ash Spring and spotted a nice looking pool about 30 yards upstream. Walked upstream to check it out and the water got up to my things at it's deepest point. It was chilly but felt good with how warm it was. At the end of that pool were a couple small waterfalls that were flowing pretty good, really cool area that I hung out at for a bit. At that point it was getting warm so I decided to call it a day and head back. The area is so dense with vegetation it's crazy, it's like Haunted Canyon on steroids. It was an awesome initial visit, I will definately be back in early November.
