I have been wanting to do this hike for a while, and I figured that Black Friday would be as good a time as any to do it.

I got to Boynton Pass Rd a bit before 8:00 AM, and there were already quite a few cars there. There were lots and lots of cars there when I got back -- there must have been a few hundred people up on Devil's Bridge. As for Capitol Butte, I only saw 2 other hikers up there.

I wasn't real sure what to expect on this hike, but for the most part it turned out to be easier than I expected. There were a couple of places where you needed to be focused and choose a good route. There was a bit of class 3 climbing along the way, but there was virtually no exposure if you took your time and selected a good route.

I thought that the views at the summit were outstanding, and are perhaps the best in Sedona.

I enjoyed this hike and I plan to do it again. In fact, it is now my favorite Sedona hike!
