| no partners | | It is still too warm for me to want to do a long hike in the Valley, and with the calendar flipping over to a new month I figured that another hike to Mount Ord would be in order.
When I got up to the summit there were about 15 cars up there -- it turns out that a rock club was up there for some sort of outing, and the lookout tower was open for them. They were about to wrap things up when I arrived, and a Ranger was there so I asked him if I could climb up the tower and he said "sure". I climbed up on the catwalk and spent some time there, and then the Ranger came up and let me go in the cab, the door to which was locked when I got up there. This was my 37th ascent of Ord, but was the first time that I ever climbed up in the lookout! |

Wildflowers Observation Isolated There is still a decent amount of field bindweed blooming on FR 27. I also saw a bit of Gooding's Verbena in bloom, and one Palmer's Penstemon in the middle of FR 27. |
