| no partners | | Got started a little before 0830. Great clouds and temps. Headed up Bursera, which seems to have recently fallen victim to some trail “maintenance” if that’s what you could call it. Basically, they chipped the embedded rocks out of the trail, leaving holes and loose dirt behind, then scattered the broken rocks, now ankle busters, all over the trail. Fun. I’ve never liked the footing on Bursera, but now it’s definitely worse.
Headed east on National, with a stop on Goat Hill. After that, headed down Ranger. Sadly, the clouds mostly disappeared at this point. Ranger has recently received some quality trail maintenance. Maybe whoever did that should give some lessons to whoever was working on Bursera.
East on Los Lomitas, then up Kiwanis, which had zero people. Breezy by this point, which felt good. Up past the Eagle’s Nest, then down Pyramid to finish out the loop. Great weather today. Very few people out. |
