Did this loop in November and is becoming my favorite route here in this park. Parking lot wasn’t full and only a couple of hikers heading out, all the others going toward Pyramid. Did see a couple of hikers topping out on Busera ahead of me and saw no one else until a single hiker on National before reaching Goat Hill where we chatted for awhile. Views toward downtown were hazy today. Hoped to see the Christmas tree noted by @JuanJaimeiii a couple of weeks before but the grinches had arrived first, took a photo of the removal sign that has info in case anyone on this site needs to retrieve their ornaments . At the end of one of the switchbacks going up to Goat Hill is a pair of black jockey underwear , pretty sure it was there in early November also. Concluded it was easier for the park service to remove the tree. I trudged on uneventfully to Pyramid trail to complete the loop ,after being disappointed at missing the Christmas Tree. |
