Glen, from Sascatchewan spotted a triplog on hikearizona that he wanted us to follow up on. Driving past Tortilla Flat and parking on the first pull out for one car on the left side of the gravel road, we began our drop into the canyon. We never did find the 'spiral staircase' we were searching for, but had a great scramble to reach Fish Creek. We walked the creek to reach the road just short of the bridge where workers were placing creek monitoring devices. We continued walking the road back to the car (I cheated and found a ride from a Fish Creek Overlook visitor who drove me the 1 1/2 miles to reach the car). Next time, we will bring two cars and leave one at the overlook to avoid the long walk from there to reach the car. If you enjoy scrambling, this may be the hike for you.
