| no partners | | I needed a quick hike and this one always fits that bill. With the clouds floating about, I had high hopes of a vibrant sunrise as well. Mother Nature had other plans as the clouds were too low in the east and it was a bit of a dud sunrise.
This hike is always a good time, no matter the skies abiding. A dark start and a cloudy and dark start of the day as well. I waited after the sun came up, but it did not make an appearance until I was just about at the bottom of the trail.
A few other hikers came up while I was up top, but it was not a crowded as I have seen it. Lots of wildflowers starting to bud. In a week or two, the top of this little peak will be covered in orange poppies. The flowers were just about to start opening up. The brittlebush is ready to go as well.
No critters other than the 4-5 humans I met on the top. Lots and lots of campers at the start. I love the smell of diesel generators in the morning….not. Nothing makes me feel like I am in the great outdoors than inhaling the fumes and listening to the irritating hum of multiple generators. THAT’S camping!
I am sure I will hit this one again soon and maybe I will get lucky and get treated to a nice sunrise/sunset. |
