Saw a cave with a rock wall in front of it from the opposite side of the canyon.
Been back twice and cant find it.
I’ll have to climb the other side again and make careful notes.
-
This time took the gradual climb up the ridge to the East side.
Lots of rolly rocks and I had to put my hat inside my shirt because it kept blowing off/
Skipped the first two sets of cliffs and head up to cliffs near the top.
At this point I found a couple of ledges that led across the face of the cliffs to a couple of natural shelter caves.(like the ones on Walnut Creek)
The top ridge is very narrow and slanted.
-
The short version is that I zig zagged my way to the top and then zag zigged my way back down and criss crossed the South side of the cliffs and hill a lot.
Too many small hollows to take pic of them all.
There is a strata of rock that goes for at least 50 yards and all along it is hollowed out from the wind. Some places big enough to stand up in.
-

It’s all steep and as I went up in elevation the rocks got less rolly and turned more bare. This made it safer and easier to move.
There are a lot of cracks and bumps to climb up and down the cliffs. The tallest I messed with was about 30 feet. Found a big rock supported by three others… really cool
The wind was terrifying. Every time I got on the wrong side of an outcropping of rock it nearly knocked me down.
Managed to overlap what I checked out last time. Couldn’t find the way down that I got to the top of the ridge and found a steeper taller way.
-
This was a fun one with lots of exposer with the potential of even more. The rocks on the cliffs are very grippy.
3 pints of water. Used 2 and had a pear.
Got a phone call from work on the way down that I had to take. Rested during the call then turned my phone off and rested a bit more just taking it all in.
