Split Tank Canyon
8:48 – Left Truck

9:18 – left canyon
9:30 – cool rock
10:04 – end of the canyon – headed home

Attempt 4 at Lion Mtn.
Got to the base in the canyon on the West side and looked up and thought, “not today”.
Decided to walk the creekbed and check out a new drainage area.
There were lots of cool formations and place to rock hop.
A couple of 5-6 ledges to negotiate and some really cool slides worn into the bedrock.

Was sick last week and Im not feeling 100% so this was a nice compromise.
Next Weekend I’m planning on hiking Atascosa and taking some friends to the Peck Canyon Window.
Or…. Taking a nap.
Rest time included somep0king around and checkout cliffs and small caves.
NO trash at all.
The cnayon is narros and steep and the creek bed is less than 5 feet wide most of the way. |
