| no partners | | There has been an increase in border activity in my regular hiking places so I've been branching out.
Started right by the tank and it was more than half filled.
From there we headed up the ridge toward a very steep peak.
The ridge wasnt that steep and there were lots of places to scramble and explore.
We crossed several saddles along they way and each one was covered in trees and grass.
Once out of the saddles it was back to rolly rocks or bare grippy rock.
The slow time is due to some pretty cool cliffs and ledges. We had to keep trying different ways to go on up.

At the turn around point I saw a cairn. very remote and steep.
Not sure what it's there for but it was an interesting find.
The way back was almost all bare rock with plenty of columns and nooks and crannies to explore.

I'm going to hike Atascosa next week and then maybe this one again to the top peak and ridgeline.
Temp stayed in the 40's with a brisk breeze.
This one was short but challenging. |
