I figured that I would take advantage of a nice late winter/early spring day and hike up to Peak 5057. I enjoy doing it from the Hieroglyphic TH mainly because I enjoy the section of the Superstition Ridgeline from Hieroglyphic Canyon to the turn up to Peak 5057.

I go the TH early and did not see anyone until I got up to the Ridgeline near the chute going up toward Peak 5057.

I had Peak 5057 to myself, which was nice. It was a bit cool there, but it was sunny and not windy, so I enjoyed hanging out there for a bit.

I had forgotten how steep and slippery it was for the last half mile from the Ridgeline -- that section was easier going up than going down.

There were a number of people on the Hieroglyphic Trail on the way back -- more than I would have thought for a Monday.

This was an enjoyable hike on a day with some nice weather. I imagine that this will be my last hike in the Supes until next fall.

Wildflowers Observation Isolated
There was a good bit of Gooding's Verbena blooming up on the ridgeline, which was the wildflower highlight of the day. Other than that, I saw some isolated and scattered Dichelostemma capitatum, prairie duster, globemallow, poppies, and brittle bush. I saw a lot of globemallow leafed out on the ridgeline, and there should be a lot of that blooming up there in the coming weeks.

There were just a few small, stagnant pools of water in Hieroglyphic Canyon.
