| no partners | | I decided to take advantage of a nice cool day and do a hike close to home. I had been thinking about doing this one for a while, and it worked out perfectly today.
I did a CW lasso loop starting and ending at the Golden Eagle TH in Fountain Hills. I made my way over to the Tom's Thumb Trail from Windgate Pass, had lunch at the Lookout just south of Tom's Thumb, and then descended on the East End Trail on the way back to the TH.
I went almost 9 miles before seeing anyone, and there were only a half dozen or so people out near Tom's Thumb. |

Wildflowers Observation Isolated There were actually a fair number of blooming fairy dusters, along with a few chuparosa and Dichelostemma capitatum. I also saw one brittle bush blooming. Brittle bush should be busting loose in a couple of weeks or so. |
