Had a couple hours to burn and felt the urge to climb a mountain (the latter happens far more frequently than the former, unfortunately). Hadn’t been to Maiden Pools so why not? Lots of water in the canyon. The pools were beautiful but not as large or impressive as I thought they might be. The view from the ridge before the pools is pretty sweet.

Only low point on the trip was the Monument to Excess going up just before the official trailhead. What a bummer.
