| no partners | | With the recent unprecedented flow of the Verde, I wanted to see if I could still make it to the Verde via the Indian Spring Wash.
This is one of the easiest washes I've ever hiked in. There's only two places that are a little sticky. The first one coming from the north is a dead fall area. If you stay to the west you bypass most of it. The second is when you get to the area with the reeds. If you stay to the east, up against the canyon wall it's easy peasy.
The farther you get down the wash, the more flowers there are. All the typical ones seen this year, plus a bush I believe to be Chuparosa and also some Chia.
Approaching the river, I could see where it had receded somewhat. I climbed to a ridge to get a better view of the flow. [ youtube video ]
Next a stop at the gauge station, the cable car to get across the river and a walk down Horseshoe Dam Road to try and get a view of the flow at the dam. This is from a mile away. [ youtube video ]
Numerous people driving this road checking things out. Nobody was seen while I was in the wash.
I'm enjoying the continued great temps!
