| partners | | I met Chums at Blue Ridge for a morning paddle. The water was like glass as we headed east towards the dam area. Approaching the dam, we started getting some light sprinkles. There is quite a bit of flotsam in this area that has been washed downstream.
Heading farther past the dam, we put on our rain gear as the rain intensified and the wind picked up. We turned around and headed back towards the boat ramp. The rain stopped on the way back.
We paddled around a bit, waiting for Ryan and Echo to join us at the lake. When we connected with Ryan, we headed west past the ramp with the goal of reaching the area where the AZT crosses.
Mother Nature had other plans for us. Lightning was crackling, so we made the decision to hightail it back to the truck. The skies opened up, and we got drenched.
Although soaked, I still had a great time on what will always be Blue Ridge Reservoir. |
