| no partners | | After recently hiking in the San Tan Mountain Regional Park, I'd have to admit the White Tank Mountains are growing on me. The crappy traffic involved with accessing both areas is similar, but the White Tank Mountains (plural) has so much more to offer than the flat, uninspiring monotony of San Tan Mountain (singular). If you're a trail runner, mountain biker, or one of the Gilbert Moms, then STMRP is definitely for you. If you're a real hiker, the upper reaches of WTMRP are probably going to bring you more joy. We completed both summits in under 2h 15m, which was a slower than normal pace because of the pooch (but Dese was insistent on padding some stats and adding a few new peaks). We could have finished the complete lasso loop in under 5h total, but the day evolved nicely weatherwise, so we added on a few easy, quick out-and-backs of the [ South Trail - White Tank Mtns ] , [ Bajada Trail - White Tank Mtns ] and Old Stable Trails. I suppose [ White Tank Radio Smt via Verrado/Tower Rd ] is on the shortlist now. To all the nutrition waist channels who've left garbage in the summit register, don't fret, that trash has been hauled out. NGAF about your Singapore Tourist Pass discounts or that you wear Cinch Jeans.  |
