| partners | | I needed a quick hike to get some miles on my achilles and Jason wanted to do one near his house, we opted for Lost Goldmine Trail.
No other cars at the LGM Trailhead on Peralta Road when we started out and the weather was really pleasant. The plan was do 2-3 miles and turn around.
The trail was in good shape and appeared to have some maintenance done recently. We made it past the Wave Cave Expressway and the masses and turned around after about 2 miles. The brittlebush was still blooming and most of the hedgehog cacti had blooms as well. A few other signs of flowers, but it looks like the season is just about done. The cholla and other cacti will start soon with their blooms.
I did notice the large amounts of red brome grass and stinknet all along the trail. That is depressing. One spark/lightning strike and this entire area can get roasted. The new normal in the future Superstition Grasslands Wilderness 
I have always liked this trail. The views of the mountain are hard to beat.
On the way back we saw a bunch of people along the Carney Springs trail and going out from the LGM TH too. The higher temps are coming soon and the pleasant/cool start changed to a little hotter by the time we returned.
I've been doing PT and limited walks/hike, but it's looking like things are improving with my ankle/calf and I will be back abusing it full throttle soon.
