Plenty of water in the creek. We made some effort to keep our feet dry, but eventually conceded defeat. The hike to the cabin went by quickly. We looked around the cabin, took a break, and ate lunch. Three other hikers arrived as we were finishing up. Chatted for a moment, then got on our way.
Bruce took us over to the cave. A slightly steeper scramble than I was expecting to get up to the entrance, but I didn’t cry too much. The cave was big enough that I didn’t feel too claustrophobic, but was glad we didn’t spend too long in there. I made Chris climb down from the cave entrance first to hopefully catch me if I tumbled down the rock, which was damp from yesterday’s weather. I survived without incident.
Uneventful hike out, but was getting warm by the finish. Saw three other hikers and their dog at about the midway point. Great day, and the RenFest and freeway closure traffic wasn’t too bad with our early start. |
