Off trail morning hike in a little rock bound canyon; a little water. Heard a commotion and caught sight of a mountain lion bolting away. I tried for a pic but instead poked my eye and scratched my face. Such is off trail hiking. In keeping with old tech took a Sony nex 5N out with a wide angle lens and very pleased with the pics; handled the high contrast really well I thought. The camera is small so does well with a small padded chest pack when I am scrambling thru thick brush or rock hopping. Saw some bear tracks. Nice morning in the high 80's when I finished.
