and noticed all kinds of new trail construction. Switchbacks, steps, rehab areas, etc. Almost nice. A recently fallen saguaro lay directly in the trail on Guadalupe Ridge. I took a more westerly route down into HV and I think I preferred it. Should have been on the master plan as there are a bunch of unpermitted social routes (mine included). Opted for Mormon Loop down as the Pima Road is even one step below Los Lomitas for interest and scenery. 
Took Ridgeline over to the brand new (new name ... the trail has been there forever) Beacon Hill trail before cutting back to the parking lot. Made reasonable time, didn't hurt myself. How many cars parked along the road get hit by golf balls here? Seems like a risk not worth taking. Still glad they haven't put up those huge metal screens that some courses install.
