| no partners | | Early morning hike at SoMo. Started from the Javelina TH a little before 6am. Still dark out, so I started with a headlamp. Did a loop involving Javelina-Pima Wash-and Pima Canyon Loop. Nice loop with minimal elevation change. Got spooked when I heard coyotes yapping at (what felt like) my heels. I had just passed the tank on the Javelina, when they went off. I couldn’t see them, but they must have been in the wash directly below me. Very cool!
Nice morning. Chilly, but no wind. Encountered 6 hikers along the way. Wildlife included several unseen, but vocal coyotes and a large field mouse.

1 coyote
