Camping trip to the Chiricahua National Monument. This hike is similar to one Kelly and I did 11 years ago. I added on the Hailstone trail and got some extra credit on the Heart of Rocks trail.
I started from the Bonita Canyon campground trail to the visitor center then up Lower Rhyolite. I made a big loop higher up taking in most all the trails.
Lots of stopping and gawking and picture taking. Many very cool sights. Highly recommended.
Only saw three people all day. One hiker from campsite #21 and two others near the visitor center.
Besides my achilles barking, a great day! :)
