We hiked up on to Black Top Mesa and then on to Black Mesa on the return trip. The morning was cool with a little ice on the trail. The creek crossings weren't too bad so we managed to keep our feet dry. Malapais Mountain blocked the view of Four Peaks from Black Top Mesa but about an hour later a cloud formed over the peaks so we couldn't see them from Black Mesa either. Nice day to be on the trail.
