We finally got a hike in with my pops. The first time we tried to do one with him out son was not into it so we got cut short. This time him and my dad were out in the lead pretty much the whole time. What a great family outing. I was supposed to swim to train for my triathlon but I forgot all my swim stuff DOH!!!!

The wife and I took the kids up to see her sister and go for a hike. we have been seeing tons of awesome pictures of Watson lake so we decided to give it a try. We did the loop counter clockwise and the first three miles were very flat and very gorgeous. The last 2 miles were hot and lots of ups and downs. We had a blast and made some more amazing family adventure memories.

We had only planned on doing the lower dwellings but when we got there we were surprised to find out it was heritage days and not only was it free to get in but the upper dwellings were open to all the guests. We took the short steep climb to the lower dwellings and we were the first ones to the top. The dwellings and the views were amazing. As soon as we got down we headed over to the upper trailhead and headed on up. The beginning started off gradual but it quickly turned into a climb filled with switchback after switchback. There was probably about 10 people that made it up before us but it didn't seem very crowded. Great hike and history I highly recommend this one

took a friend and his boys up to mess around at the natural bridge. first time being down here and being able to go under the bridge it was pretty cool.

We hit the trail early and only passed a few hikers on the way up on the way down was a different story we must have seen 40 people or so coming up on our way back. Always a great time on the trail with my pops!!

Like most Saturdays lately we woke up and headed up north to do some adventuring. Payson again was our destination. We set out to do phoenix street loop since we got lost last time and ended up at a different trail head. We found where it was supposed to start according to GPS but there wasn't much of a trail and they seem to be getting ready for some new construction. We decided to scratch that trail and see if we could go do some exploring at Horton since we couldn't get the kids across the creek in the beginning last time. I was only planning on doing a few miles but since the springs have eluded my wife a few times she wanted to make it to the end this time. So my wife, our 5 and 6 year old, and myself made the 4 mile trek back to the spring. I was so extremely proud to see them make it all the way to the end. We stopped at the spring had lunch then made our way back. It was much easier on the way back out and we definitely earned our mcdonalds and arbys for the day :y: :y: I love how much we have got to explore just in the first 2 months of the year. many many more trips to follow.

Our Friday evening ritual has turned into doing a short hike followed by dinner. today we tried out some trails I used to mountain bike over at papago park. We did a few different trails but the only one I can recall was lizard trail. The trails are fairly flat and the wife and kids seemed to enjoy them almost as much as I enjoy having them out with me.

The wife and I took our kids and our niece up north for some adventuring. Horton was our original destination but due to snow ice and some sketchy crossings we decided to abandon that plan and try for something else. We thought we found a hike called phoenix street loop but the directions sent us somewhere else. There was a trailhead and I had my haztracks so we gave it a shot. We ended up on the cypress trail and part of the boulders loop. We were looking for a loop so we ended up going a little farther than we planned and my topo wouldn't come up. Im not to good with the whole GPS thing yet. The trail was very nice and relatively flat. This was the longest hike my wife and kids have done so far and they did great!! So happy to have them out hiking with me :y: :y: :y: :y:

Pops and I started the hike from meridian today. It was still dark when we started but I didn't bring my headlamp ](*,) . His Haztracks was going crazy it came out to about 9 miles but we know that is way off. Only the second hike with pops this year but we have been getting some rides in. Switching gears a little this year taking lots of trips with my wife and kids and prepping for some triathlons.

The wife, kids, and myself decided to take a break from the snow and head down south for a hike. Sabino canyon was the plan but due to overcrowding we abandoned that plan and headed over to Catalina state park. We did Canyon loop trail and a little bit towards romero pools. This is the longest hike our kids have done so far and they did great!!

The family wanted to do a little warm up hike before our trip to Tucson the following day. We decided to take a drive over to holbert to hike a little. We started late so we were almost out of light by the time we got to the water tank so we turned around and headed back. Always fun to be on the trail with my family.

We had a looong road trip but our first stop was tonto natural bridge. There was a little snow on the ground but not too much. The wife and my second trip here and the kids first. We had a blast. One day we will go when it isn't cold and we can go under the bridge.

Made up up on battleship for the first time and it was a blast. A lot longer of a hike than I usually do but it wasn't to bad. Hiked with some people I don't get to hike with often and a couple of new faces. Bruce didn't push me down which is unusual but a nice change. Thanks for the great hike and company fellas.

My son told my wife it was not enough degrees outside for me and my dad to be hiking. I think he was right cold early hike. Not many people though which was nice. Always love this little loop.
