Been hiking but have not posted in a while - headed up Ford Canyon into the wash with water and wheat everywhere. Tough slog through the sandy wash but then nice climb up out. Continued on Ford Canyon until I reached the mesquite/goat camp intersection. Decided to continue on goat camp and take it all the way down to the bajada trail and then to mule deer. Finally making my way back to Ford Canyon and back to my truck. Perfect day for a nice long hike!

Got an early start on the trail and was sort of crowded for the first few miles. Once we got out of the tree line the crowds thinned substantially. The last mile and a half climb to the top was a slog as the wind and low temperature started to slow us down. Made it to the top and only stayed for 15 minutes or so to take some pictures and then head down. The hike down began to drag out but the weather was perfect so I was ok with it.

Been trying to log this one for a while. Decided to hit the four summits of Skyline Regional Park. Headed down Quartz Mine Trail and down Tortuga and over to Javelina Summit. We back tracked our way to the Skyline Crest Trail and hit the summit real quick. We continued on Skyline Crest and went up Turnbuckle to the Valley Vista Summit. We then cut to Chuckwalla and started the trek up Pyrite. At the top of Pyrite right before the Summit trail we met a guy on a horse, we both went on our ways after a small chat. We went up Pyrite all the way to the Summit and then headed back down to meet the Granite Falls Trail. Headed back to Turnbuckle and then back to the truck for some much needed cold water. Was disappointed when I got home that the delivery service was not able to pick up my beer, I was really looking forward to it. Great hike with some good AEG.

W headed out around 6 a.m. could not ask for better weather. Took a small detour as we missed a turn that started brining us down the canyon early. Quickly got back on track, stopped for some snacks before we began the hike up out of the canyon. Decided to continue Ford Canyon to Mesquite cam down to Waddell and cut back down Ford Canyon to the truck. Perfect all the way around!

Really have been wanting to explore Skyline more so I headed out at 5:45 this morning. Really enjoyed the switchbacks up to the Pyrite Summit. Enjoyed the Sunrise for a minute and headed on down. Will need to piece together more hikes at this park.

My original plan was to do Ford Canyon loop but after driving in to the White Tanks I decided to head for Goat Camp. About halfway up Goat Camp I decided that I would go to the towers. First time in a long time that I have been up there without wind. Enjoyed the views and a PB&J and headed back down. Legs were a little sore but alright this morning. Saw two deer on the way up!

Kind of a slow Jog at times but really wanted to catch the sunrise from the lookout spot on Rainbow Trail. Enjoyed a PB&J for 5 minutes while viewing the sunrise! :) :)

Found out at the gate that there were multiple runs going on throughout the park. Did not run into any runners on the way up but once we hit Willow it was a different story. Saw four or five deer after just crossing into Willow. All runners were very nice and we were in no hurry so we let them pass! Great Morning and got done early enough to enjoy the rest of the day!

Just like SpiderLegs post, it has been too long since we have got in a hike or run. Even though James stated that he felt like crap before we began; once we got going it was obvious that it did not bother him. I thought that we got to the 5024/Flatiron intersection rather quickly and they proceeded up to 5024 and enjoyed the views and some conversation with a new Arizona resident. Headed down to Flatiron and enjoyed some more great views.

On the decent James turned into a man possessed and it took everything that I had just to keep him in my sights. I think eventually the individuals coming up slowed him down and I was able to reconnect with him. Made it the rest of the way down and met up with Tibber and MNLumberjack and met inside mining camp restaurant for a beer and good conversation!!

Could not have asked for a better time all around

After almost a month off lifting and playing racquetball I decided it was time to head back to the trails. I actually was faster than I thought i would be even though I was not trying to be. I just was enjoying the views and being back out there in the fresh air.

Had plans of heading up to the towers but when I entered white tanks I decided to do ford canyon instead. This is one of my favorite trails and it did not disappoint this morning. I started out at 6 and ran for an hour with my head lamp. Saw 5 or so hunters today that were very pleasant and moved out of my way when they saw me. There were several spots in the wash that had water that normally do not have any water. Rocks were also slippery so i had to take my time in some areas. Great Run!!!

Nice smooth run on the mormon loop. Loved the little rain that forced most people off the trail. Had a guy follow me making the descent and it pushed me to go fast but the slippery rocks made it tough!!

Wanted to try something a little different so started at the parking lot and went up and ran hiked the ridge line until is met up with the technical loop trail. Ran the technical loop the rest of the way. Had to dodge some chollo balls but other than that it was fun

Hiked the Holbert trail with my son and went up to dobbins lookout so he could see the view. My son took a tumble on the way up but other than that it was a great hike
