A fairly new addition - The Cour Marly is located in the Richelieu wing of the Louvre in Paris, France:
The Cour Marly is a glass-roofed courtyard on the lower ground and ground floors of the Louvre. It's accessible through the Hall Napoléon, the museum's subterranean entrance area. To see more and some close-ups, see my video [ youtube video ] .
The Cour Marly is filled with French sculptures from the 17th and 18th centuries. These sculptures were commissioned by Louis XIV and Louis XV for the Château de Marly, which was destroyed during the Revolution. The courtyard also features two monumental works by Antoine Coysevox, known as the Marly Horses.
The Cour Marly has a tiered layout with glass ceilings and aluminum solar shading. The glass roof was designed by Leoh Ming Pei, the architect of the Louvre Pyramid, and opened in 1993.
