We completed this hike once before back in 2008. We brought company along this time. It still might be a bit too early in the season to do this because the last stretch got a little warm. Cooler temps in the morning and a breeze most of the way there and back helped. We stumbled upon a desert tortoise on our descent from the view which didn't disappoint. Caterpillars everywhere! And I mean everywhere!
