Day 3 and 4 of my Pinaleno Trip....

Day 3: Woke up to instantly Stormy Looking Skies and I still was feeling pretty punk from the Allergy Attack I was suffering from, so I opted to just do a Road Tour today looking for Color. I was going to move down the Road a pace, so I packed up Camp with the thought of Camping further down the Road for a couple of Nights.

Chad had texted me and gave me a few Tips on the Aspen from when he was there earlier in the Week so I started there. Driving down Bible Camp, I passed a couple packing up their Camp as well. I just barely glanced at them and apparently that was a mistake. I didn't realize that I had missed a Yeti Sighting! ](*,) By the time I got his Text, he was long gone and I never did find any Service strong enough to Text him back and hook up with him to visit... :( Next time Preston! Sorry to have missed you!

It had Rained in Bible Camp earlier and all the Fallen Leaves had Water on them which was pretty cool. From there, I just drove on down the Road, visiting some of my Favorite Places and finding more Color. About 3:30 I ran into some Deer and after a Walk about 100 Yards from the Vehicle through an Open Meadow, I was able to catch them in a Grove of Trees at pretty close Range. Right about that Time, it started Hailing.... I opted to stay put under a large Pine with a big Canopy and try to keep the Camera dry while still trying to get some Images of the Deer. After about 10 minutes of Pea Sized Hail, it was time to go. I took a few Pot Shots on the way back to the Escape and then did an Emergency Camera Drying Out Session in the Car... :o  That pretty much ended the Day for me and I set out to find somewhere to Camp...It wasn't hard, there was really no one else up there, although I saw a few more Cars on this Day. I settled in for a couple of Nights in Treasure Park... :)

Day 4: Decided to check out the Grant Hill Loop for Aspen...Again, it was hit or miss and due to my Errors, I didn't do the Whole Loop. Went up the Middle and did the Rest of the Outer Loop CW, so I missed half of it, but that was ok. Still threatening to Rain and I'm still Sneezing my @ss off, so it was just good to get a little work in, in spite of it all. Drove around and checked out some other Areas that I'd seen and ran into several Herds of Deer on the way back to Camp. I think it's the most Deer I've seen in here, but they were all Does, Yearlings and this Year's Fawns...No Bucks...I guess maybe the Rut is over for them and all of the Girls are knocked up already... Was treated to some nice Sunset Color at Camp and tried to settle in for the Night...This Allergy Attack of mine was making it very hard, but it was still a nice couple of Days up there.

This pretty much ends the "Aspen" portion of the Trip. I was pretty Aspened out and after not sleeping well, I knew it was time to move further down the Hill and try to get some Relief...I couldn't have made a better decision. The Allergies cleared up and the Maples were starting to Peak. Stayed tuned for Act III....

Photos: Yeah...It's a Photobomb... ;)

Life is not a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty & well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside, totally worn out & proclaiming, "Wow What a Ride!"
