The original plan was to do a trans Mazatzal hike with key swap but with the gloomy weather report the trip was cancelled. So just to make sure we made the right decision Lee, Kyle and I did the Rock Creek/Barnhardt Loop...well it was definitely the right decision to cancel the original hike. Very cold, windy, with hail to go along with the terrain. I think that Lee and Kyle summed up the trip well. It was a real test to see how much we could handle the cold and wind. Of course all the creeks and drainages were flowing nicely only issue was we were too cold to stop and enjoy. But without a doubt the highlight of the trip was the recently cleared Half Moon Trail...Thanks Chumley

Nice wide track through the nastiest sections of catclaw. After Half Moon it was up the Rock Creek Trail and over to the AZT Divide trail. By now we were all soaked so the consensus was to just keep moving. Eventually made to Barnhardt Trail and headed down for the last stretch to the vehicle...nice to be finally be out of the rain!
