I'm embarrassed to say this was my first foray into Bear Canyon. I had two hours to pound out some mileage, and I wanted something different than Sabino Canyon Road, yet easy to get to and close to my house. So I opted for the Bear Canyon Trailhead so I could quickly get up into the canyon. I had the canyon all to myself, seeing only 4 other people in the 2 hours I was out, and they were all at the shuttle turnaround.

The only water I saw were in a couple of very small pools where I turned around.
