| no partners | | Had a nice cabin at the NR the night before. Got up EARLY to move one vehicle to the North Kaibab parking lot because it fills up fast. We were able to get a ride to the north end of this section, so did it SOBO to save shuttle time. Started out on a BRISK morning with frost on the ground. The day warmed and was picture perfect. We saw no water along the way except for at the ranger station. The ranger at the park entrance was super nice and took pics of the 3 of us with our cameras. We were a little disappointed in the leaves this year. Many trees have lost their leaves already. But, the aspen that were hanging on were beautiful! Surprised to see dandelions out! Found a nice lunch spot at the picnic table just before crossing AZ67. Porta-potty there too! Trail is easy to follow and the tread is good. The only people we saw were at the Widforss TH. We kept our eye out for buffalo, but no luck. Did see several deer. |
