Thanks to a Good Samaritan, we were able to hitch a ride from Parker Canyon campground to the TH on Tues. morning. Glad to be in the sun and out of the wind of the Huachucas! Met a couple along the way - only other people we saw on the trail. As the day progressed, we were grateful for cloud cover that moved in. Although spotty, there was water all along this passage also. Approaching a gate, the couple ahead of us yelled back a warning about a rattlesnake at the fencepost. He had moved on when we arrived. Only other wildlife sighting was a little horny toad on the trail and a scorpion under the rock we chose to drive tent stakes that night. Again, good trail. Pretty easy to follow. After reaching the TH, we decided to continue on into Passage 3 and split the difference with tomorrow's trek. Hit rain just as we reached the saddle within the first 1+mi of Passage 3, but walked out of it as we headed down. Camped for the night just before the trail opened into the valley. We found a nice flat area with plenty of protection from wind and rain, although it was clear all night.
