Was able to squeak one last hike in before spring break was over. Hit the road early to drop a vehicle at Cosnino Rd then headed to Marshall Lake. Sat on Lake Mary Rd and watched a herd of about 2 dozen elk cross. All cows except for 1 bull. Pretty cool. Thought I had missed the TH so we went to the parking area up by Lowell and headed out at 7:30. Beautiful day! This passage is well marked although confusing to me in some spots, but I would just get out the Marauder's Map and away we'd go! We came across a girl scout group that is using pack goats to haul their water and stoves. Visited with them for a few minutes. They said that they tie the goats up at night - not so that they don't run away but instead so that they don't try to get in the tents with them! :lol:

Took a few short breaks but because the trail was easy the the weather good, we just pretty much plugged along. Reached the vehicle on the frontage road at 3:30 and headed for the other shuttle vehicle and home.
