| no partners | | We backpacked from the south end of the passage to the Florence - Kelvin TH last weekend. I went back out today and did the last 2ish miles from the bridge to the F-K TH as an out and back. Last weekend was WINDY!!! Cripes - I'd be leaning into the wind, then hit a spot where it swirled and about fall over. Trail is in good shape and you can really make time on it. Carried the water needed so did not go off trail to check out the water sources. I was surprised to see a few flowers in bloom. Night temps had been in the 20s all week, but a few hardy plants were enjoying the recent moisture and sunlight. The 2 new shade structures on this passage are sweet! Last weekend the parking lot at F-K was full of horse trailers but today there were only 2 cars there. Today I didn't arrive at the Kelvin bridge until 11 due to reported fog in the area. Took my dog for today's outing since it was a short one. Wandered down to the Gila, which is really moving along due to all the rain we have had. If you're going on into Passage #16 the wash that you need to walk through is currently deep and fast water. I didn't even attempt to cross it. |
