Beautiful hike along the way to the spring. Kaitlyn who works for me in Chandler was along on this one and it was her first trip to Horton. She absolutely loved it. Once at the spring we saw 30-40 Boy Scouts. We hung out for a bit and then on we went. From the Spring we only saw three other folks the rest of the entire hike.
We knocked out the Promontory Trail before exiting on the Derrick. Just as we arrived at the top of the rim the skies started to get real dark and then came thunder and lightning. Fortunately we made it back down to the Highline before the rain unleashed on us.
Those last couple miles down the Derrick were fun even with the down pour. Mexican food at LaSiera afterwards. Good times! |
